State Representative Joan Bauer (Lansing) speaks with the media about her fight to keep the Michigan Promise Scholarship in the state budget on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009 at the Capitol. Nearly 100,000 Michigan students rely on the Promise Scholarship to attend college and train for 21st century jobs. Bauer is Chair of the Higher Education Appropriations Committee and Vice Chair of the Community Colleges Appropriation Committee.
