LANSING – State Representative Joan Bauer (D-Lansing) is inviting members of the community to join her for her monthly "Breakfast with Bauer," which includes coffee, donuts, and conversation regarding state and community issues. This month's discussion will focus on legislation Bauer has introduced that will crack down on those who exploit seniors for their own gain.
This month's "Breakfast with Bauer" is scheduled for Thursday, February 28th at 10 a.m. at RiverfrontTowers, 601 North Cedar, Lansing.
"For most of us, it's impossible to imagine having our parents or grandparents being financially exploited," said Bauer. "Unfortunately, these sad cases are all too common. We need to do all we can to protect our most vulnerable citizens from unscrupulous predators who exploit and abuse our seniors, and this package will give us the tools to do that. I encourage anyone who wants to share their thoughts on this topic come on Thursday."
Bauer hosts and attends community events all around Lansing in order to meet as many residents as possible and listen to their concerns and suggestions.
The March "Breakfast with Bauer" will be held March 29th from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Gone Wired Café, 2021 East Michigan Avenue.
